The streets and squares of Valletta will come alive on Saturday with demonstrations, re-enactments and the sound of music in the one-day spectacular dubbed Città Magica.

The event kicks off at midday, organised by the Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, the Malta Tourism Authority and the Valletta Business Community. It is aimed at all those who love shopping, eating out and enjoying good music.

Highlights include a demonstration by the Malta Police Canine Division, an In Guardia re-enactment and Airport Impressions, Scream Daisy, Ira Losco and The Riffs rocking Freedom Square from 8 p.m. onwards.

Kid's entertainment includes the Curtain Raiser at St James Cavalier, where admission is free, and the Playmobil Station at Auberge d'Italie on Merchants' Street. Other attractions include an artisan fair, a classical car exhibition and an exhibition on the history of the Malta Amateur Dramatic Association, which is celebrating 100 years since its inception.

Visitors to the Palace Armoury, Staterooms and Archaeology Museum will also benefit from a 50 per cent admission fee reduction on entrance.

One can take a spin on a Segway two-wheeler in Freedom Square from midday onwards.
