Maltese conservation and environment group Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar (FAA) was, for the second year running, represented at the European Forum of Voluntary Work 2009 at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

This year, FAA was invited to return to the forum to address NGOs. FAA coordinator Astrid Vella, who won the Special Jury Prize last year, gave a motivational speech, relating FAA's track record over the past 12 months to the problems and opportunities facing NGOs on the continent.

This year's award was won by Christine Buckley, the Irish contestant who has fought tirelessly for the rights of victims of abuse.
