Another Maltese winner

With reference to my film feature carried last week in The Sunday Times, I am delighted to point out that In The End, winner of the Best International Contemporary Award at the current New York International Film and Video Festival, is not the first Maltese entry to be registered among the festival's winners.

The renowned film-making duo, Chris and Maurice Micallef, had won both the Best Documentary Feature and Best Cinematography Documentary awards for The Phoenicians in 2005. And two years later their The Tal-Qadi Stone won the Best Director Award Documentary at this prestigious film festival.

Both documentaries have been aired locally.
