Hibs - 2, Dingli - 1

Champions Hibernians had to battle more than expected before lowering the colours of bottom side Dingli Swallows by the odd goal in three this afternoon.

The match was marked in controversy as early as the fourth minute when Rumen Galabov’s header was deemed to have crossed the goalline despite Shawn Tellus’s clearance.

Dingli managed to regroup and managed to draw level on 50 minutes when Joseph Okonkwo’s long range drive had the better of Hibs goalkeeper Mario Muscat.

However, it was Hibs who had the final say when Edward Herrera was tripped in the area by Dylan Zarb and from the resultant penalty Andrew Cohen fired the ball home to hand the Paolites a priceless victory.
