What you read last year

The tragic accident in which a mother, a father and their child were killed last August was the most read story on timesofmalta.com in 2009.
This was followed by the story reporting that the number of swine flu infections in Malta had risen to four. This was also the third most e-mailed story.
The third most read story was that announcing the death of events promoter and retailer Desmond Vella.

Two of Fr Joe Borg’s blogs - “The God I believe in, and the University students’”, submitted in June and “A church of saints and sinners”, submitted in May, where the top and third most commented articles, respectively.
Placing second was the story published in May on the Muslims which had gathered to pray along the Sliema front.
The most read story in the sports section was the signing of 17-year-old James Paris with Manchester City. The most e-mailed was that reporting on Air Malta’s links with Inter and the most commented was a story on the relegation of Vittoriosa Stars.
In the foreign section, the most read story was that reporting the death of Mike Bongiorno. The most e-mailed was a story on a couple’s nightly noisy sex romp which drowned out neighbours' TVs. The most commented foreign story was that reporting the death of Michael Jackson.
