Round-the-clock prayers in Birżebbuġa

Intending to please Our Lady on her feast of the Immaculate Conception, a round-the-clock rosary-chain was held at Borg in-Nadur, Birżebbuġa from midnight, December 7 until midnight of December 8.

Very many people turned up at all hours of the night and day. They came to recite one or more rosaries. We were informed that many who could not physically make it to the site joined us from their homes in the recitation of the rosary.

A culminating point of the day of prayer was reached around 7.30 p.m., when the function that takes place every Wednesday at the site was purposely anticipated to this day. The intentions raised to heaven during this 24-hour prayer-chain were mainly those that Our Lady herself asks for: the conversion of people around the world; the holiness of the clergy and of families.

That same sweet fragrance that we all enjoyed during an earlier similar function, held on November 21, remained with us all throughout the time. I wish to thank all who contributed to this event: those who shared their experiences; those who joined both at Borg in-Nadur and from their homes; the media - for whom special prayers were offered. It is the desire both of heaven above and of many here below that such a day of prayer be held once a month. Details will be made known later.
