At the beginning of the decade in 2002 China passed the US as the world's largest beer market and, while sales of domestic brands remain as strong as ever due to cheaper prices, foreign breweries, while struggling to generate profit, continue trying to penetrate the potentially huge market of young earners with disposable income.
