Malta’s Embassy in Moscow has embarked on discussions with the state-owned Moscow City Symphonic Orchestra, considered to be the best in Moscow, to test the possibilities of collaborating with Malta.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry said this was one of a number of initiatives taken by Malta’s embassy in Russia over the past year.

The embassy prioritised direct investment to Malta as one of its primary functions.

It also worked hard to help Maltese entrepreneurs to embark on investment missions in this country.

The embassy followed up requests by Maltese entrepreneurs on various trade enquiries. Ambassador Charles Inguanez, who took over at the Embassy last summer, has assisted, over a period of weeks, a number of companies that requested the embassy’s help to enter into business ventures in Russia.

Last month, the embassy assisted Malta Enterprise in the organisation of a Maltese business delegation to Moscow.

The embassy promoted Malta as a tourist destination and built ties with a number of Russian artists interested in furthering their contacts with Maltese artists.
