Parma FC arrived in Malta this afternoon to start a week-long training camp in Malta ahead of the second part of the season as they look to maintain their excellent start to their Serie A campaign this season.

The Gialloblu contingent, headed by president Tommaso Ghirardi, arrived on an early afternoon flight and were greeted at the Malta International Airport by a sizeable group of Parma fans who were keen to take photos and get autographs from their heroes.

After leaving the airport, the Parma squad, which included former Juventus forward Nicola Amoruso and Valeri Bojinov, who started his playing career with the youth team of Pietà Hotspurs, headed to the Le Meridien Hotel in St Julians before they went to the MFA training grounds in Ta’ Qali where coach Francesco Guidolin led his first training session in Malta.

On Wednesday, Parma will be taking part in a triangular tournament, the Christmas Cup, that will see them face Malta champions Hibernians and Valletta at the Hibs Stadium. The first match starts at 8 p.m.
