Hamrun move to sixth place

Hamrun - 3, Dingli - 1

Hamrun Spartans moved up to sixth in the premier league, level on points with Sliema Wanderers as two goals from Manolito Micallef helped them overcome Dingli Swallows. Micallef put the Spartans ahead after just two minutes, heading home into the corner of the net.

Diego Armando Cucciardi made it 2-0 after 27 minutes when he out-jumped his marker to direct the ball behind the Dingli goalkeeper.

Just before half-time, Manolito Micallef went round the goalkeeper before hitting a composed shot that made any goal-line clearance impossible. Dingli pulled one back when Mark Anthony Bonnici sliced the ball into his own net. But Hamrun held on for their fourth league win this season. Dingli remained with just one win in 11 match, languishing at the bottom of the table.
