A collaboration agreement was recently signed between the University and Birla Institute of Management Technology, India.

The agreement seeks to promote the exchange of students and academic staff, research partnerships and capacity building, including executive training programmes in both higher education institutions.

The agreement was signed following contacts established by Wilfred Kenely, Malta's High Commissioner to India.

Following the appointment of a University marketing officer at the Malta's High Commission in Delhi, the University has been seeking to develop academic links in India and disseminating information about the University among Indian students and academics.

In November, Dr Sandra Dingli, director of the University's Edward de Bono Institute for the Design and Development of Thinking, ran a series of workshops to students and faculty members from the Birla Institute and other schools in New Delhi. Mr Kenely was involved in the organisation of these workshops.

Birla Institute of Management Technology is a New Delhi-based private institute established in 1988 that runs postgraduate programmes in management.
