Dangerous black spot in Gżira

I wonder whose bright idea it is to have the traffic lights at the crossroad of Sliema Road with Rue d'Argens, Gżira switched off at night? This is a very dangerous black spot very much prone tocollisions, even with the lights switched on.

I was informed by the Gżira local council that the traffic lights do not fall under their jurisdiction and many complaints have been forwarded to the Malta Transport Authority regarding this dangerous practice.

On the evening of December 12, my sister and I were involved in a very serious car accident as the taxi we were in collided with an oncoming car being driven towards Savoy Hill. Irrespective of whose driver's fault it was, the fact remains that traffic is not controlled in this very busy junction.

I hope that immediate action is taken so as to avoid loss of life, especially during the festive season.
