More cruise passengers in November over last year

Growth of 17%

Cruise passenger traffic grew by 17.4 per cent last month in comparison with November of last year, according to the National Statistics Office.

Embarkations in Malta totalled 1,505 and landings amounted to 1,544. EU passengers made up just over two thirds of all traffic, at 66.2 per cent. American passengers made up 57.7 per cent of all non-EU traffic.

There was, however, a drop of 22.4 per cent in total passenger traffic in the first 11 months of the year when compared to the same period last year. EU visitors accounted for 74 per cent of total arrivals. Females made up 52.1 per cent of all visitors and 33.4 per cent consisted of people aged 40-59. Those aged 60-79 made up 30.4 per cent of the total.
