Scouts brave the weather for charity
Scouts from the Mosta Group and their friends braved the weather this morning and went to Ta' Qali to form a human Fleur-de-Lys as part of fund-raising for l-Istrina, although turnout was not as high as wished for. The Fleur-de-Lys is the emblem of the Scout Movement.
The Mosta scout group said 600 people took part and €1,300 were collected.

Being the organiser of this event together with my other leaders, I want to thank all the poeple that supported me to realise this event. It was not an easy task and we went against all odds. True scouts does not consider weather but aim to fulfill what had been planned in an improvise manner. Thanks Times of Malta for the support, thanks Damien for the nice picture and thanks to the flying school malta for the aircraft

AS THE SAYING GOES - ONCE A SCOUT ALWAYS A SCOUT!!! AS AN EX SCOUT, I CANNOT BUT SAY HOW PROUD I AM OF OUR SCOUT GROUPS. SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY IS ONE OF THE MAIN ASPECTS OF THE SCOUTING PROGRAMME. AND COME RAIN OR SHINE, SCOUTS ARE ALWAYS READY - 'BE PREPARED' - TO BE THERE TO GIVE THEIR SHARE TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE & OBEY THE SCOUT LAW. WELL DONE SCOUTS!!!
