The second issue of the online Journal of Maltese History has just been issued and may be viewed at http://maltesehistoryonline.com .

It includes original papers on brucellosis and Maltese goats in the Mediterranean, Malta and the 19th century grain trade, the birth of the 'Maltese model' of development 1945-59, and on commercial partnerships in Malta in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

There are also two research notes on the archives of the Spinola family in Genoa and some reflections on the ethnographic fieldwork on public memory in Malta.

The journal is edited by John Chircop from the University's Department of History, supported by an international advisory board of editors. The journal's third issue is currently being prepared, and original, high-quality research papers, especially on unstudied aspects of Maltese history, are currently being solicited to be considered for publication. A list of suggested research topics may be viewed on the journal's website.

Submissions are to be e-mailed by the end of March to Dr Chircop at john.chircop@um.edu.mt.
