President Abela to be kept in hospital
President Abela during the President's Charity Run on December 6.
President George Abela is to be kept in hospital today on the advice of doctors, the Office of the President said.
Dr Abela was rushed to Mater Dei yesterday morning after fainting during the funeral Mass of entrepreneur Angelo Fenech at St George parish church in Qormi.
The President's Office said the doctors had found Dr Abela's condition was caused by a drop in blood pressure associated with dehydration or lack of water in his circulatory system.
Dr Abela responded well and immediately to treatment but will stay in hospital today for further rest and treatment.
The Office of the President thanked all those people who sent their best wishes to the President.
