Labour Party's New Year resolution
Less than two weeks before Christmas I have no intention of boring readers with a long list of properties which successive Labour governments requisitioned from private owners to use as Labour party clubs.
It is a long list indeed and one which Stefan Zrinzo-Azzopardi so conveniently ignored in his letter Property Requisitioned By A PN Government (December 5).
In his letter, the PL general secretary ad interim referred to the Sta Venera PL club but failed to mention that although it was requisitioned by a PN government in the late 1960s for public purpose (construction of a new road), it was immediately taken over by a new Labour government in 1973 and converted into a PL club.
Neither did he mention the Siġġiewi PL club which Labour is fighting tooth and nail to keep at the cost of depriving the people of Siġġiewi from this unique property in their village square.
Perhaps, one of Labour's New Year's resolutions should be that of returning to their owners all the property it requisitioned together with proper compensation.

I, think that you are still living in limbo, and it is time to wake up now.

Mr Psaila I think between pl and pn it is very obvious who should be making resolutions! I mean resolutions, usually, should be considered when you would like to improve,or,change lifestyle, habits or more important, attitudes! To be more specific,to change cost of living, surprises which aren t mentioned during the budget, and most important to treat all maltese people the same way, which appears does not exsist in the pn vocabulary! Remember who used to say.......".HUTI MALTIN U GHAWDXIN!!" May i wish you a happy christmas and a PROSPEROUS and RESOLUTIONARY new year.........

COMMON Guys have you no shame, Why dont you stop acting like imbeciles mentioning each others sins at this time of the year at least, when Maltese and Gozitans are wishing each other Happy Christmas and the best for the New Year. At least grow up for the festive season. Where is the Good Will?

How about returning all properties requisitioned by the PN Governments and compensating the owners Frank?
How about PN paying real compensation to those whose property had been requisitioned by PN Governments and they were paid a mere pittance for it?
How about keeping all those promises made over the years by the PN and PN Governments Frank?
Tabib b'xejn, f'Darek bla biza, Lm5 (in 1987 so now it should be much higher) for women who stay at home, TV license to be removed, etc etc.

Frank, I know you have a cushy job and won't rock the boat. But isn't it hard to defend your party at this moment? Why don't you take advantage of Christmas and take a short break ...

I have a suggestion for a New Year's resolution for the PN: DO JUSTICE WITH THOSE WHO HAVE SUFFERED POLITICAL DISCRIMINATION UNDER A PN GOVERNMENT! That would indeed show the goodwill expected, more than ever, during this festive season!!

Dear Frank, what about the Gonzi PN New Year's resolution? Surely it will be very interesting to share it with us. I will not give you any hints but if you just consider the recent events, than I am sure you will come to some conclusions and inspire yourself with some ideas! On the other hand if you still think that all is OK with the PN government and that business is as usual than forget it! and just keep dreaming.

Please Frank Psaila, if you do not have any intention of boring us, why bother writing such letters. Isn't this Christmas time, the time of SUPPOSEDLY good will...unless you also have your own interpretation in the Nationalist Party vocabulary for Good Will…the Gonzipn way?
You did not achieve your targets like your Party and infact you did bore us
Why don’t you go and have a splach at St. George’s Open Space in Valletta to appease your frustrations and wake up to what is really on all our minds.......the Water and Electricity UPGRADED tariffs because it is there where our Christmas bonuses will be going. .

@Mario Tabone
If by blues you mean 750 votes, then a victory with the margin of 35,000 like the last MEP's Election what do you call it ??? A landslide I must say......
For us it's Xmas time, but at Tal-Pieta' it looks like Good Friday is coming :)

@ N.Cortis
And how would a Labour government have paid for higher priced oil without taxing you to the hilt or by increasing your energy bills?
Would it have some secret press and printed its own euros?
Is your memory that short when your bills were heading sky high when the price of oil was a mere $12.00 a barrel and thanks to a Nationalist government the rates were reversed? Excuse me, but did that not happen under the watchful eye of Dr. Sant, then Prime Minister for a full 22 months?
et al
Would Malta have avoided the recession if Labour was governing? What a load of bull!
Merry Christmas, anyway.

May we assume that Mr Frank Psaila will make a New Year Resolution to persuade his party to hand back the large government-owned premises occupied by the PN bang in the middle of Paola Square? I am sure that the Paola Local Councuil could make very good use of them
Or would that be too frank for Frank?

@ Adrian Camilleri.
Just a reminder that the Maltese Citizins, as a United Country , as you put it, did decide at the last general election and they gave the Labour Party the real Blues yet again.
Happy Holidays.

And what's your Party's resolution Frank ?
To put people like Franco, JPO, Arrigo, Mugliett etc etc under MORE pressure ??
Or maybe to call it a day, and let US MALTESE CITIZENS to decide, so we, as a united country, give your party the BLUES in an early election ???
I'm waiting.....

I think the PN's new year resolution should be that of keeping to its election promisses of a Malta which is heaven on earth!
Thats what should be worrying you dear Frank!
You think the people are worrying about some buildings taken by different governments?
Get to the real problems dear Frank!
