Liverpool take on another team knocked out of the Champions League after being drawn against Romania side Unirea Urziceni in the last 32 of the Europa League yesterday.
Rafael Benitez's side finished third in Group E while Unirea were third in Group G, but beat Rangers 4-1 at Ibrox.
If they win, Liverpool will next meet the winner of the two-legged tie on February 18 and 25 between French club Lille and Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.
Liverpool club ambassador Kenny Dalglish said they were confident of going through.
"We'd rather be in the Champions League," said Dalglish.
"But we'll give it as good a go to win it, as we would the Champions League, I don't think the boys will let anyone down."
Italian club Juventus face a stiff test as they have been drawn against Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam, and would meet either English side Fulham or title holders Shakhtar Donetsk, of Ukraine.
