Top American coach Brian Voss has just completed a second coaching clinic at the Eden SuperBowl.

Such was the success of Voss's first trip to Malta back in November 2008, that the Malta Tenpin Bowling Association moved quickly to book the US coach for another clinic this year. The aim was to give local players another opportunity to train under the guidance of this veritable legend of their chosen sport.

Voss's five-day schedule was a gruelling one, with around 50 regular bowlers attending the clinic at various times, ranging from national squad members, to other regular league players keen to receive some professional tips.

That was no problem for the American who admits to being a 'workaholic' when it comes to his coaching responsibilities, providing participants are keen to take his advice on board.

Prior to his more recent foray into coaching, Voss enjoyed an extremely successful career as a player, winning his first ever Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) tour title in 1983, and the PBA National Championship in 1988.

Between 1987 and 1998, Voss managed an incredible winning streak of at least one PBA title in 12 consecutive seasons. More recently, 2008 has seen Voss being inducted into the US Bowling Congress (USBC) Hall of Fame on the very first ballot.

Although now semi-retired from full-time competition, Voss still plays in numerous major events around the world. His career has also featured appearances as an analyst on TV shows, and he also figured in two major films, Greedy and Kin Pin in which he was Woody Harrelson's 'bowling double'.

The MTBA were assisted by the Eden SuperBowl and the InterContinental Hotel in their efforts to make Voss's visit possible.

The local association also received backing from the Maltese Olympic Committee, Kunsill Malti għall-Isport and the government-administered Good Causes Fund.
