Mobile calls while travelling by air

Go customers will be able to use their mobile phones on planes thanks to the telecom provider's new international in-flight roaming service.

Launched in conjunction with AeroMobile, the service will be available on certain flights operated by Emirates Airlines, Lufthansa, Qantas Airways and Saudi Arabian Airlines.

It allows customers to connect at certain times while flying with the participating airlines, depending on whether the aircraft has a mobile phone transmitter.

Mobile phones can be used once the aircraft is at cruising altitude and staff have informed passengers that mobile phone use is permitted.

The service is available to all Go mobile customers, however, customers on pre-paid plans cannot yet make outgoing calls.
