Ambulance operators will be ordered to take action by the General Workers' Union unless the Social Policy Minister reversed his decision to bow to Union Haddiema Maghqudin pressure for the senior foreman ambulance services to be removed from his responsibility.

The union said the minister did not deny that he was punishing a worker for doing his duty to supervise and take measures against abuse.

The ministry ignored dialogue and consulations with the union although as this worker's representative, the union should have been involved in discussions concerning him, it said.

The GWU said it would never tolerate the minister reaching an agreement with another union which did not represent this worker, for him to be removed.

The union told the minister that unless discussions were held and if the worker was not reinstalled, it would take action.
