In the present financial situation that the country is in, and with the ever increasing national deficit, I fail to understand why we had to go to such an unreasonable expense to inaugurate St George's Square.

While I appreciate the improvement that was carried out, two faults diminish what has been achieved namely, the loss of parking space which in becoming increasingly difficult to find in Valletta and the removal of the Sette Giugno monument from the square. I am sure that the architectural status of the square would not have been diminished by this monument.
