Paint store catches fire
No one was injured this afternoon when paint stored in a garage in Birkirkara caught fire.
The blaze was quickly extinguished by the Civil Protection Department, which deployed three fire engines.
The fire engines were later in the afternoon also deployed to a washroom fire in Luqa.

Isn’t paint toxic? Irrespective of how quickly the blaze was extinguished, how come fire fighters were not equipped with protective safety masks? A not so good an example for building an effective safety culture particularly by those who should lead by example.
