More than 600 vehicles have registered to participate in today's edition of Paqpaqli għall-Istrina, which is being held at the Lufthansa Technik hangar in Ħal Farruġ between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The motoring spectacle collected over €19,000 for the Community Chest Fund last year.
This year, the event has evolved to include motorsports. Around 160 high-powered vehicles will be racing on the airport runway adjacent to the Lufthansa Technik hangar.
The area in front of the hangar will host a static display of around 440 privately-owned vehicles, most of which form part of a motoring club.
Moreover, around 40 brand new cars will be lined up within the hangar itself.
Malta International Airport will provide free parking and a shuttle bus service will operate between the terminal and the show.
A nominal entry fee of €5 will be donated to l-Istrina. Children under 12 enter for free.
The event is organised by the motoring show Paqpaq with the collaboration of the Malta Motorsport Federation.
