My wife takes two Jointace tablets every day for strength support of the joints. Here in Malta they are sold at €12.95 for 30 tablets. In February, in England I paid £20 for 90 tablets. In October, again from England, a friend bought me 270 tablets for £50 which locally would have cost a staggering €116.55 (nine boxes of 30 tablets at €12.95 each). To put it another way: 12 months' supply for my wife's needs would cost €312 locally as compared to 13 months' supply costing just £150 in England. But then I'm forgetting something. The chairman of the healthcare business section of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Enterprise said "one cannot compare like with like" (December 4). How else can the consumer make a comparison if not by how much cash he has to hand over the counter?
