A group of 10 players from the squash section of the Marsa Sports Club will this weekend take part in a challenge team match in Newcastle followed by an individual knock-out competition.
The Marsa SC team is made up of past and present national squad members as well as a handful of players from the lower divisions, most of them taking part in their first overseas squash competition.
The event, to be staged at the Northern Squash Club in Newcastle, comprises a series of six matches over three days. The first team match, scheduled for this evening, will give the Marsa SC selection a chance to get accustomed to the courts and atmosphere at the club. This will be followed by a social activity.
The youngest member of the Marsa SC team, Colette Sultana, will play an exhibition challenge match against Samantha Ward.
This will be a tough test for the talented Sultana as Ward is the winner of this year's North of England junior open under-17 event.
