President Emeritus Guido de Marco this morning signed copies of Il-Politika Tal-Perswazjoni, the Maltese translation of his book Politics of Persuasion, at Word for Word in Valletta.
Il-Politika Tal-Perswazjoni was launched at the Malta Book Fair last month, where it was very well received. It was translated into Maltese by Charles Abela Mizzi.
Publishers Allied Publications are hoping that this Maltese version will emulate the English edition of the book and become a runaway bestseller.
Since its publication two years ago, the English edition has sold over 5,000 copies, and is still in demand at all leading booksellers.
The book was printed by Progress Press.

@ Joe Cassar -- Emeritus means retired... I guess the essential difference from "ex" and "former" is that it specifies that the person was not removed from office.

Just out of curiosity (and with no particular reference to Dr Demarco) is the title "Emeritus" just another way of saying "former" or "ex"?
If it has some other meaning, what is it? How is the title conferred, and by whom?
