A total of 2,262 new case appointments in the Out-patients Department of Mater Dei Hospital have been fixed for the second half of next year, according to information given in Parliament. There are no new case appointments for 2011.

Social Policy Minister John Dalli said 585 appointments have been set for June 2010, 503 for July, 391 for August, 378 for September, 279 for October, 111 for November and 15 for December 2010.

The minister pointed out that a patient may have multiple appointments.

He said that in urgent cases, patients were seen by consultants immediately or at the next available out-patient clinic appointment.
