For most of us the festive period is a time to relax and enjoy being with our families.

In many homes, Christmas trees stand in living rooms, the houses sparkle and glitter with lights and the madness of holiday shopping reigns supreme.

In short, this is a joyous time for many of us but what about those who are less fortunate?

For some people, however, Christmas merely serves to underline an uncertain future. With no permanent home, how can people who live on the streets plan to feel the joy of such a festive season?

Some of the less fortunate do have homes in which to live but may not afford to buy presents for their children because they became victims of usury. And what about couples who are grieving the loss of a child at a time that is synonymous with children? Have we forgotten about them?

Christmas Times magazine, out with The Times tomorrow, addresses some of these difficult and sad situations.

On a positive note, the magazine tracks down Santa Claus before he gets really busy and, in another feature, it focuses on the real meaning of Christmas for children.

In a thought-provoking contribution, the magazine speaks of a different type of giving other than gifts. Why not wrap your arms around the ones you love and give them the gift of love and time?

Christmas Times is published by Allied Newspapers and produced by Mediamaker.
