Trade mission to Austria

Malta Enterprise is a trade visit to Vienna in collaboration with the GRTU between January 27 and 29, 2010.

With a population of circa 8.2 million, Austria is a well developed market economy with a high standard of living, having a GDP per capita of €34,500, making it one of the wealthiest nations in the EU and the world.

Its economy features a large service sector, a sound industrial sector and a small but highly developed agricultural sector which account for 37 per cent, 27.5 per cent and 5.5 per cent of GDP respectively.

Promising areas of investment, trade and technology commercialisation with Austria include pharmaceuticals and healthcare, renewable energy, computer software and services, education and training services, aviation services, travel and tourism, food and beverages, mechanical precision engineering, R&D operations, knowledge based services and financial services.

Malta Enterprise will organise match-making meetings for participants through its institutional networks.

To assist companies cover part of their expenses to participate in this event, Malta Enterprise will be refunding one representative of each participating company around 50 per cent of the costs involved (flight and accommodation) provided that the company representative participates in the official programme.

Companies from the same group of companies are only allowed to participate if the business sectors are distinctively different.
