Local council that heeds its residents

I would like to congratulate the mayor, Peter Bonello and the rest of the councillors of St Julians for listening to what the residents wished and unanimously agreeing to drop the controversial car park project.

I was sure that nothing was going to happen to jeopardise the well-being of the residents. It was the same council which paved Balluta square and upgraded it to its present state.

Everybody knows how hard the mayor and his councillors work in St Julians, which is so difficult to administer and control.

I am sure that this council is one of the busiest, with so many problems and difficult situations facing it daily. Few residents write to thank or praise Mr Bonello and his team for their hard work, but many write to criticise them continuously.

The residents should be grateful towards the whole council for its hard work and dedication in St Julians.

If the council found the backing and cooperation of the residents it would work wonders. Let us support the councillors in their difficult task.
