Maltageddon tops Eden Cinemas Box office

Locally produced Maltageddon was premiered last Firday to a sellout crowd at the Eden Cinemas.

The actors made their grand entrances in limousines to a crowd of over 700 people. The film, whose first showing ended with applause, became an instant success with its opening weekend topping the box officeat the Eden Cinemas.

The film produced by Square Wheel Productions sold out most of the shows during the weekend despite a bomb threat on Saturday which merely disrupted the start time of the film.

Maltageddon is showing exclusively at the Eden Cinemas in cinema 16.

Executive Producer Lyona Xuereb said, ”It is a great rush to see the result of our hard work being welcomed by the public. We have worked hard to create this film and to promote it, and that hard work is now paying off. To hear that our film has competed and beaten some of the biggest block buster Hollywood films in Malta is a great achievement, one that we are very proud of. We are already looking forward to producing our next film, but now is the time to enjoy the success of Maltageddon.”
