Fundraising for transplant patients

The Malta Heart Foundation recently organised a fundraising gala dinner at the Westin Dragonara, St Julian's.

Among those present were consultant cardiologist Albert Fenech and cardiothoracic surgeon Alex Manche - both founding members of the foundation.

Mr Fenech performed a medley of songs accompanied by Mr Manche on the piano. There was also an auction and raffle conducted by Will Axon, of BBC's Flog It. The foundation was recently called upon to support heart transplant patients through the donation of exercise equipment to Mater Dei Hospital.

This donation follows the installation of an Automatic External Defibrillator to the Manoel Theatre earlier this year, and the recent donation of a treadmill to a prospective heart transplant patient last October.
