Ten-man Newcastle moved four points clear at the top of the Championship after a 2-0 win over Watford yesterday.

Newcastle took advantage of second-placed West Brom's 2-2 draw at Derby to cement their position as automatic promotion favourites.

Chris Hughton's team took the lead through Peter Lovenkrands in the 20th minute.

The Magpies, who had Kevin Nolan sent off, netted a second on 83 minutes when Fabrice Pancrate produced a stunning strike to extend their winning run to six matches.
