Never mind the marina, just rebuilding the breakwater would be a good plan : since it was destroyed Marsalforn seafront has been subject to the full force of Northerly storm waves .

the notion below by a Dr that marsalforn becomes a yacht marina is utterly ridiculous.
isnt there any limit to this 'developement' craziness??!?
is there no limit to the craving to destroy what has been there for thousands and thousands or years??
in maltese..... kilba u reghba ( greed)
i sometimes am against the environmental groups as i feel they exaggerate in their protests to most development in the island but at the same time, i guess i the long term they are right!!
better no development than destruction!!!

@ C.Vella
It's already late in the day - from water polo pitches taking over natural bays to absurd hotels and flats so close to the shores.
Do we have the courage to reverse and preserve ? I don't believe the will is in the culture.

Do you people appreciate seeing a bay or don't you? I always compare yacht marinas with car parks. Instead of land you use the sea, instead of cars you use the boats. End result goodbye: to our beautiful bays. Will somebody with his head on his shoulders PLEASE stop ruining Malta. In yacht marina all I see are boards and beautiful yatchs, true beautiful but don't tell me they are more beautiful than what God gave us "the open sea".

@ Dr. John Zammit.
You MUST BE JOKING!!! Another yacht marina? Why, may I ask, for heaven*s sake ? So that we can lose another bay, which is used by thousands, both locals and tourists alike, for the sake of a few rich boys and their toys? The residents of Marsalforn, myself included, have been asking both the local council and the central government about the irreplaceable damage the almost non existing beach is suffering when, especially when the prevailing northwest winds blow, since the half built breakwater has been completely destroyed in the last couple of years. The erosion of the beach in the last few years has been fenomenal. But nobody seems to care. That is why Gozo, in general is going to the dogs!!

When is the breakwater of Marsalforn going to be rebuilt? It was mentioned several times that it was going to be rebuilt. Marsalforn if protected well could become another yacht marina.
