Labour youth call for divorce
The Labour Youth Forum has encouraged the Labour Party to propose divorce legislation in its electoral manifesto.
Forum president Daniel Micallef said during the annual general meeting: "Civil rights are one of the main issues for our progressive party. In a country that has been an EU member for five years, certain rights issues cannot be ignored."
He added that, although the Forum believed measures needed to be taken to ensure the family unit was strengthened, the fact that "new and different realities" existed in society could not be ignored. The option of divorce would allow people, whose lives had taken a wrong turn, to get another chance, he concluded.

Why should I, who never married by church, have to wait for the church (and the people who'd rather not make use of divorce) to agree with it? It's not fair. My marriage had nothing to do with the church in the first place. Terminating it or not is none of the church's business!
But I do have a vote, and I'll give it to the politicians who WILL give me my right to terminate such contract. Because my rights ARE their business. That's what they're supposed to be doing.. mhux jitkellmuha u jsahhnu is-siggu biss!

I believe that if one had to do a survey, they'd find many more people, even happily married people would rather there existed this civil right to terminate a marriage contract than to not have the right and choice to do so at all.
So what are you guys waiting for?
