A former policeman was conditionally discharged for three years because he tested positive for ecstasy.
Jonathan Farrugia, 26, was tested after one of his colleagues, WPC Michela Vella, was rushed to hospital after an overdose.
Both were at a party in Paradise Bay, Mellieħa on June 6, 2005. Mr Farrugia, who pleaded not guilty to being in possession of the drug and committing a crime that he was duty bound to prevent, resigned from the force two weeks later.
The court found Mr Farrugia guilty of both charges.
