Lighthouse surrounding area shameful!

A few weeks ago my family and I visited the Delimara lighthouse.

They took me there because at school we discussed the importance of lighthouses.

The lighthouse is beautiful and is being restored by Din l-Art Ħelwa.

Unfortunately, the surrounding area is neglected and full of litter and junk. Close to the lighthouse there is an old fortification whose ditch is littered with rubbish that must have been accumulating there over decades! It is shameful that such places have become an eyesore.

As a young Maltese citizen, I appeal to the authorities to have the area cleaned up to allow families enjoy their Sunday walks in a pleasant and safe environment. On the other hand, I urge school children to encourage adults and other young people to dispose of litter in a responsible way.
