Christmas is the busiest time of year for everyone, so if you have your heart set on a wedding abroad in the snow, it will take a lot of organising as far as guests are concerned. Here are a few tips for getting married at Christmas time.

Choose your date carefully and well in advance. Christmas is a notoriously difficult time of year to get any time off work, so you may have a greatly reduced guest list, depending on where you are getting married. Remember, if you want a fairytale wedding in the snow, early December would be perfect as it's far enough from Christmas day to make it a lot easier for everyone.

Choose your venue carefully. At other times of year you often have to pay to have the venue decorated, whereas many places will have their Christmas decorations up - thus saving you money. Send out your invitations as early as possible so your guests have plenty of time to make their arrangements.

Bring the wintry theme into your attire and bouquet. Green and red are the traditional winter colours and make a stunning bouquet, especially if there's a few sprigs of holly and mistletoe in there too, likewise with the grooms buttonhole. If green and red are not your thing, there are plenty of other ways you can bring in the wintry theme. Silver white and cream are all colours which have a wintry feel. Take these through your invitations, cake and wedding favours for a wonderful, winter theme.

Thinking about your cake, there are many ways you can bring Christmas into that too. How about a cake with several tiers that look like a stack of Christmas gifts? Or if you want a traditional cake, bring in seasonal touches to keep in with the wintry theme.

Flowers for centrepieces can be very expensive at this time of year, a Christmas coloured candle standing on a mirror will look simply stunning. You could even fill some glass vases or vessels with Christmas ornaments.
Wherever you decide you have your Christmas wedding, follow these guidelines and have a day that no one will ever forget.
