Tank cleaning farm to be privatised separately from shipyard
The tank cleaning farm at Rinella does not form part of the talks currently being held with a bidder for the privatisation of Malta Shipyards.
The facility will be privatised separately, Finance Minister Tonio Fenech said in reply to a parliamentary question.

Sure, check out "A Vision for Malta's Grand Harbour" document on the MITC website (https://mitc.gov.mt/MediaCenter/PDFs/1_16392-%20Grand%20Harbour%20insert%20ENG%20Small.pdf)
"10. Discontinuing the cleaning of tanks
The tank-cleaning facility used by the Dockyards, presently located in the ditch surrounding Fort Rikazli, will be shut down and relocated to a more suitable maritime industrial zone.
The cleaning of tanks is an international obligation. However, its present location compromises the potential of Fort Rikazli."
