PBS radio stations Radio Malta 1 and Magic Radio have begun broadcasting in DAB+ digital format, Digi B Network, operator of Malta's digital radio platform, has announced.

The digital radio platform, broadcasting free to air in DAB+, continues to grow and now transmits 28 channels, including world famous radio stations such as Voice of America and BBC World Service. Digi B has invested heavily in the latest equipment to continue to improve its coverage across the Maltese islands.

Digital radio sets from various manufacturers, ranging from top end hifi manufacturers like Denon to more affordable standardised OEM, are now becoming more widely available and digital radio across Europe continues to go from strength to strength. Sergio D'Amico, Digi B Network's managing director said: "Digi B is proud to play a key role in the continuous development of the radio broadcasts of these channels, one of which has formed part of Malta's radio landscape since its inception".

PBS chief executive Albert Debono said PBS was fully committed to aggressively push its content on all available platforms, and DAB+ was the new digital radio platform that will change the way radio is consumed.

Malta is at the forefront of this advanced technology with local radio listeners having easy access to improved end-user features, a vast range of radio stations and music genres and high-quality reception.
