A time for loving
Few things in life match the light on a child's face when a puppy or a kitten appears out of a box when the ribbons have been untied. Adults respond similarly when they come upon a homeless animal looking up at them from its kennel begging to be taken...
Few things in life match the light on a child's face when a puppy or a kitten appears out of a box when the ribbons have been untied. Adults respond similarly when they come upon a homeless animal looking up at them from its kennel begging to be taken in.
However, this idyllic scene is often followed by the less appealing sight of pets being returned to animal welfare centres after the Christmas season or worse still, pets being abandoned onto the streets only for the S.P.C.A. to rehabilitate them.
Please help S.P.C.A. - by thinking about needy animals and their future - if you choose to shelter a needy animal, neuter it and treasure it -don't abandon it!
Three artists -namely Winston Hassell, C.S.Lawrence and Lucienne Buttigieg - have joined forces to present a collection of their artworks in order to promote greater public awareness of animal welfare needs in Malta especially during this festive season. In particular, focus is being placed on the need to exercise caution when buying domestic pets as Christmas presents.
‘A pet is for life -not just for Christmas'! Under the auspices of the S.P.C.A. President Mrs. Barbara Cassar Torregiani and organiser Ms. Miriam Fiorini, with the support of Photocity and Charts Corporate Brokers, this art exhibition aims to raise funds for the SPCA which carries out admirable voluntary work taking care of strays. If you cannot provide a loving home for a pet, you might instead like to contribute by purchasing a painting, where proceeds from the sale will be helping the SPCA in its worthy cause.
The exhibition will be opened for public viewing from 12th till 31st December at Villa Madama Balzan. For further enquiries please contact us on mfiorini@onvol.net or on 99457399.
