Finland to share expertise

Finland and Malta will be collaborating in future to share expertise on a variety of sectors including tourism, technology and the manufacturing industry, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said yesterday.

He explained that Finland had experience and good technology in clean energy, mainly wind-generated and geothermic, and experts from the two countries would be meeting to share this experience.

Dr Gonzi discussed this exchange of expertise with Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen and President Tarja Halonen during a visit to Finland yesterday.

They also spoke about immigration, including the recent news that Malta has won the right to host the headquarters of the European Asylum Support Office.
