Clay movements cause road cracks
Cracks which have formed at the Mtarfa bypass road were caused by movements in the underlying clay.
Contracts have been awarded for repair works, Roads Minister Austin Gatt said.

Our reputation for bad road maintenance/repairs seems to be still intact.
Can someone with clout please put an end to these shenanigans once and for ever

Where are those who were supposed to plan, execute and certify the roads?
They should be held accountable and not carrying out repairs at the peoples expense.

Paul Barrett is absolutely right. These works are a disgrace and whoever carried them out should be fined not paid. EU sandards my foot!

Nature will always be superior to man..and people guided by their "periti" have the guts to apply for permits and excavate clay terrain next to a watercourse.....guess people have money to throw down the drain besides their reputation!!!

I have just driven over the "repair work" carried out on the Coastroad by the salt pans. If this is the standard envisaged for further repairs, forget it.
How contractors can get away with such poor quality work is beyond belief. The new surface has not been sealed with the old surface, the surface is not level and the "bump" moving from the old surface to the new surface is way out on all the patches and enough to give your suspension a real good thump on at least one of them.
If these repairs were inspected and accepted for payment then all I can say is that the standard laid down is way too low.
