A total of 353 cars were stolen and 683 houses were burgled between January and October, according to information given in Parliament.

The figures show that 35 cars were stolen in St Paul's Bay, the biggest number from any locality. Next came Birkirkara with 21, Qormi, 18 and Sliema, 14.

The highest number of burglaries was 61 in Sliema, followed by 54 in St Paul's Bay and St Julian's, 32.
