The number plate D1ANA, expected to attract interest among fans of the late Princess of Wales, could fetch as much as £100,000 when it is auctioned today.
The plate is part of a Coys auction to celebrate the company's 90th anniversary which also features around 60 cars and famous guitars from the world of rock and pop.
The sale, to be held at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London, will also include car memorabilia and sporting guns.
Among the cars being offered is a 2004 Ferrari Enzo; a 2005 Koenigsegg CCR; a 1969 AC 428 Frua with only two owners, which could fetch as much as £80,000; a 1963 Porsche 356B Cabriolet; and a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, which could fetch as much as £350,000.
Coys managing director Chris Routledge said: "We are starting to come out of the doom and gloom of the recession and there is every indication that people are looking for that extra-special Christmas present."
