The KSU executive is democratically elected through an election organised and administered by an electoral commission that is appointed at the KSU's annual general meeting.

All University of Malta students, including those at the Junior College, the medical school, the Institute of Health Care, and Ta' Bighi, are allowed (and encouraged) to vote in the election.

If only one contestant is nominated for a post, no election for that post is held, but the person nominated must be appointed directly during the AGM.

The term in office of the KSU executive is one year, and each member may seek re-election.

Students with questions or suggestions on this or any other issues may e-mail KSU vice-president Matthew Paris on vicepresident@ksu.org.mt.
