The fourth annual Challenge for a Smile, in aid of Puttinu Cares, will be held on December 8 at 7.30 a.m. This year, the triathlon event will include a bike ride from Birżebbuġa to Ċirkewwa, a swim from Mġarr, Gozo, to Ħondoq ir-Rummien, and a run from Ħondoq ir-Rummien to Rabat, followed by a run back to Ħondoq and a cycle back to Birżebbuġa. It will start at St George's Beach, Birżebbuġa (opposite Alfresco Restaurant). A minimum participation donation of €100 will be collected.

The challenge has now become a fixture in the local sports and fundraising calendar. Last year's activity netted over €30,000, all donated to Puttinu Cares - Children Cancer Support Group. This year will also see the participation of the popular TV character Dr Gawdenz Bilocca.
