CareMalta has just been accredited as the first education and training centre in Malta to offer City & Guilds health care qualifications.

This meant that students following its courses could gain practical experience at one of CareMalta's homes for the elderly while studying either for the IVQ (International Vocational Qualification) diploma in health care or the specialist diploma in health care, a spokes-man said. Those completing the specialist diploma would be shortlisted and provided jobs within the company, the spokesman added.

All lectures will be held at the Magister Academy in St Julians. Applications are available at Casa Arkati in Mosta, Villa Messina in Rabat, Prince of Wales in Sliema or the government homes operated by CareMalta in Żejtun, Cospicua and Mellieħa.

They are also available on www.caremalta.com. Applications close on Monday.
