Valletta parking dilemma
Just a note to share my disappointment with readers about what happened on November 6 when I went to see the Holy Mountain, a very educational and entertaining evening. When I went back to the car I found a ticket for parking in a vacant cabbie space at 8.30 p.m.
If the date and time were the norm I would not complain but this was a special evening with the MCC full to capacity, so I ask: Where can one park the car? The MCC did not offer the facility of a shuttle from the Park and Ride in Floriana.
I will not be attending any future events if this problem is not solved.

At antoine vella - you can never depend on BUSES. Until such time as the bus service is reorganised. So your suggestion is nada. At Anthony caruana - next time dont go to see this entertainment. It costed you double the entrance fee. There was nothing spectacular to view.

Mr. A. Caruana
There are no such terms as "special evening" or "MCC full to capacity" or "offer of shuttle service" in our laws so the ticket is completely justified.
I do go to MCC occassionally but I make it a point to be there at least an hour before the show starts. I always find ample space along the Marsamxett side. I don't expect to park my car in no parking areas or inside the MCC itself just because I am late.
I hope that your common sense will prevail and you don't resort to punishing yourself the way you implied in your last sentence.

Reserved cabbie spaces in Valletta do not have any time periods and so are supposedly to be reserved 24 hours. I have never seen a cabbie, for example near the Lower Barracca Gardens, before 10:00Hrs or after 16:00Hrs. Cannot we be somewhat more reasonable and not utterly rediculous?

The same thing happened to me last summer. What was worse was that one could not park in most white parking bays in Merchants Street because these were blocked by poles or pillars for some coming festa (these had no parking tickets stuck to them). I think the way we are going is that Valletta will be dead after this year especially now that we have also lost parking on the Mainguard Square too. Who wants to go two hours before a performance just to find parking? It definitely rules out elderly people accessing the theatres in Valletta.

Mr Caruana, your dilemma can be solved with one magic word: buses
